We had been trying for a baby for 2 ½ years when we went to see Mr Lavery at the Hammersmith Hospital. Mr Lavery organised some investigations including an ovarian scan – this showed cysts in both ovaries. He suspected endometriosis and recommended a laparoscopy to fully diagnose and potentially treat the problem. The operation was performed and the following month we were amazed and delighted to discover I was pregnant! We now have a beautiful 3 month old daughter!
Mrs S

After 18 months and having still not conceived a scan revealed a possible septate uterus. I then went for an HSG X-ray to confirm this diagnosis. A septum was revealed but also the real reason why I couldn’t get pregnant – both my tubes were blocked. It was possible that surgery could open them allowing me to conceive naturally. I was fully aware that this was a big operation and that there was no guarantee that it would be successful. However, Mr Lavery would only go ahead if he thought the chances of success were high enough. The operation was a success and 2 months later I was pregnant.
Mrs C

Thank you for all your expertise, thoughtfulness, patience and, most of all, for all you did during my operation in June 2009. I am very pleased that I had the surgery and the result is OUTSTANDING! Your team of staff is just wonderful as they took such good care of me. Once again thank you so much for everything.
